Luck
As I assigned the issue number today, I realized that this very blog would be my 88th. Perhaps it is also true in other cultures, 88 has been passed on to me by my parents as the luckiest numbers to behold in the Chinese culture. When we pronounce the number 8 in Chinese, it produces a similar sound phonetically as “to prosper in abundance.” Not long ago, a friend told me that numerology assigns 88 as my number. How serendipitous.
I used to believe in the concept of luck until I heard equestrian trainer Daniel Stewart say that there was no such thing as luck.
“We create our own luck,” he told us.
I do believe him. We make our own luck.
I still find myself wishing others good luck, or I’d comment that I hope they get lucky or that luck is on their side. Maybe it’s just habit or that I just feel compelled to say it because it’s what most people expect.
Personal growth and self-development studies direct us away from playing the role of victim in life and remind us that we ultimately control our external experience. We are the captain of the ship in navigating how healthy we are, how happy we are, how prosperous we are. Believing in luck is believing that there are occurrences through chance and everything else we can blame whatever’s outside of us and not accept responsibility for our own behavior, decisions and actions; and that is simply not true. Life mirrors who we are, our decisions, what we project out, our feelings and emotions. If we feel fearful, our environment shows us everything to fear. If we feel happy and grateful, our environment presents us with everything to be happy about.
“Be the change you wish to see in the world.”
First, you have to “be” to change your energy frequency and then your external environment changes to match your vibration. You cannot change the environment to match what you want. You attract who and what you are, like a magnet attracts like. This is clearly illustrated in both the laws of attraction and vibration. It is said that whatever your life looks like to you, whatever and whoever surround you are all that you are pulling into your circle through your thoughts and beliefs. It’s just the way things work. It is physics and nature combined.
Whatever you like or dislike about your current life and present situation is the result of every thought and decision you have made up to that point. I remember when I first heard this, I thought this was just a load of nonsense. If I had things in my life that I didn’t want and didn’t wish for, how would they just show up? Remember we attract back the messages we are sending out. So, if we are not sending off signals of what we want, but what we don’t want, we will get what we don’t want. Apparently, there is an abundance of literature detailing that our thoughts and desires can be so powerful, they can wield dramatic results in our lives that the majority of people would label as miracles of the impossible.
Our thoughts generate vibrational frequency or energy and so there is movement. Thoughts travel extremely rapidly, over 900,000 times faster than the speed of light. I have discovered through my studies that there is a plethora of information on teachings that fine tune our thoughts, emotions, and our ability to use imagination and visualization in order to obtain the level of health, happiness and wealth we desire. So, if we can indeed control our life’s positives, then through the law of polarity, we also control our life’s negatives. It is a balance. You cannot have one without the other.
Before I leave you with some inspirational and transformative quotes to contemplate on and lift your day, here are a few reminders of things to do daily:
As soon as you wake up, before you interact with the world, write in your journal 8 to 10 things you are truly grateful for and take a moment to feel why you are grateful. You can include things in the future that you imagine you have now. Gratitude brings you closer to the infinite universal source of supply.
Sit in meditation for at least 15 to 20 minutes (one hour is ideal) and implement Meridian access points to level up the power of meditation (check out our YouTube tutorials under Physician Healer). This can be quiet reflection or used in conjunction with positive affirmations (“I am” statements) or intentional statement-questions (refer to previous blog issues for extensive examples). Remember to do breathing exercises before and after (Again, refer to previous issues for examples).
Spend a few minutes doing active imagination and visualization work on what you desire, whether it is picturing yourself having excellent health, high levels of happiness or living in prosperity and abundance.
Exercise and stretch for at least 15-20 minutes.
Repeat the above in the afternoon or evening.
