Remembering the Future
My earliest exposure to this concept was listening to Kyle Cease explain an effective method of exercising the law of attraction and to achieve the wish fulfilled. His technique is called “Kylego” and involves the simple method of talking about something you desire as if it has already happened. In essence, you are bringing the future wish into the present time and treating it as a current reality. By anchoring emotion into this behavior, you create vibrational frequencies that are in harmony with the desired result and so through the law of attraction, whatever you desire finds you.
For example, let’s say you want to form a partnership with this group and really want them to sign a contract with you. You would talk to yourself or to a friend who understands the method and say something like,
“I remember 2 weeks after we discussed the particulars, it was obvious that the agreement was mutually beneficial and so everyone got on board, the contract was signed, we shook hands and went out to celebrate.”
And then, you would picture yourself remembering how everyone was dressed, what everyone was saying, giving specific details on what the conversations entailed, feeling the handshakes and experiencing the celebration, as if all of this happened and you were there. The key is to be as detailed as possible and requires a certain level of imagination.
We see children play act all the time dressed in oversized clothing and hats covering most of their faces, in their elaborate make-belief tea parties in the company of friends, dolls and stuffed animals, or romping about as their favorite superheroes. Yet, as adults, we allow our reality to be guided by what our primitive 5 senses tell us, and more often than not, it is attached to a significant amount of negativity as we operate from a sense of lack and limitation and not-enoughness.
Remember that the mind is composed of 2 parts, the conscious and the subconscious. The conscious mind makes decisions, initiates our desire to change, brings new ideas to the table, while the subconscious accepts everything without prejudice, until there is enough emotion attached to a new idea originating in the conscious mind. Then, as it goes into the subconscious mind, it bumps up against the old programming or paradigm. This is where the new idea either gets ousted and the individual continues on in the comfort zone back to old habits; or accepted and the individual takes a new direction in life as a new vibrational frequency establishes itself and a real change comes about for the person.
Some of my clients have asked why we are always referring to energetic or vibrational frequencies. Research merging neuroscience and metaphysics, indicates thought involves movement or travel. It is said that mind is movement. There is such a thing as thought waves and that they travel greater than 900,000 times faster than the speed of light. Waves are a form of energy and energy vibrates with frequency.
Negative thoughts carry negative frequencies and positive thoughts carry positive frequencies, if you will. As far back as the early 1900’s, science of the mind was heavily studied not only with reference to health and healing but also where wealth building and management were concerned. It was apparent that wealth, health and happiness were all part of the same mind game and for those whose skills did not come naturally, they nevertheless thrived in freedom and abundance from learning and practicing specific ways of thinking combined with knowledge of the universal laws of nature. (Working with the Law by Raymond Holliwell.)
Many of us still remain in the dark about the power of the mind and its connection with the body and consequently remain unaware that although the body is physically connected to us, it is considered an external entity and so our thoughts (part of the internal) can directly affect our body (external manifestation) creating either disease and disintegration or health and wellness. By the same token, our thoughts can create poverty or wealth in our lives, misery or happiness.
Remembering the positive aspects of the past can have therapeutic benefits as long as the memories are used to pave the way to increasing our self-confidence by serving as a reminder that if we were capable of great things in the past, we can certainly be capable now as the path has already been paved.
On the other hand, dwelling on memories good or bad for too long can also have a detrimental effect. If the present circumstances are less than ideal at the moment, dwelling on the good times of the past can keep us stuck and lead us to spiral further downward as we yearn for the “good ol’ days.” If we persist on focusing on how horrible our past was, we begin to lose our focus that faith creates an inner knowing that the past does not always predict the events of the future unless those are the contents of your thoughts 24/7.
Over the years, many New Thought authors and leaders have taught students to bring about a desired outcome using the power of thought and imagination. They discovered that when thought and imagination were combined with genuinely strong feelings and emotions of deep belief of the wish fulfilled (Neville Goddard), the desired goals were always achieved. In his book, The Power of Awareness, he details case history after case history where his students would achieve what many of us would label as miracles, from individuals healing completely from terminal cancer to families who went into poverty only to rise again a giant in business just through the power of their imagination. Neville’s own personal story is equally as compelling. For those of you who are curious to know more, access the YouTube podcast It is Within You narrated by Brian Scott.
Former football player turned New Thought author U. S. Andersen (3 Magic Words) confirms with similar findings of Neville Goddard in his own life and in the experiences of his students, and that is simply that everything in the physical plane is created once in the mind as thoughts first. Whatever we hold in our mind often enough and with enough conviction, good or bad, will come to fruition. So, as much as the sick will deny that they want to be sick, they have a tendency to complain incessantly about being sick. The more you say, the more you get. The more you think the more you get. What you love is yours. What you hate is yours.
Dr. Joe Dispenza began teaching his clients to heal with the mind after he performed it on himself. In brief, while he was participating in a triathlon, he was struck on bike by a truck which left his spine fractured in 6 different places. After being told by his surgical team that he would never walk again, he healed his back with active meditation using the mind and walked out of the hospital after 12 weeks.
Dr. Dispenza basically says the premise for healing any disorder is to use meditation and the mind to free up energy from the past (regrets, disappointments, other traumas) and future (fears, worries) and apply it to the present moment where you can actually do something about your disease. He states that most chronically ill individuals spend too much time living in the past and then bypassing the present moment of possibilities to go to the future with the expectation of getting more of the same misery. Why do we do this? The answer is ignorance; we don’t know any better or we are not aware, or we do not believe because we were not taught this when we were kids.
Remember that the current circumstances are illusions given to us by our 5 senses as evidence of reality and that whatever is in our present circumstances were caused by the contents of our thoughts and decisions up to this point. Change your thoughts now and the trajectory of your future changes. The new version of you is formed and the old version disappears from neglect. As much as this sounds like fantasy and impossible, I invite you to do the research yourself and you will find a plethora of information too much to dismiss.
When you try something new, strive to prove to yourself that it will work, rather than proving to yourself that it doesn’t.
There is literally so much research out there and so many case histories illustrating the above that reasoning tells us there is no way everyone is lying or delusional.
I’ve always maintained an opinion that if we don’t have proof that a method does not work, and it won’t hurt you to add that to your daily activities, why not? And, if we have a tendency to give up and stop because this new way isn’t working, what benchmark are we using to determine the time frame? If I were tempted to stop, I would ask myself if I would go somewhere better or if I would return to square one. I would also ask myself which option would give me at least a sliver of a better outcome. After all, as Earl Nightingale reminds us that time is going to pass anyway whether you try something new or not, so why not just keep at it?
There is always light at the end of all tunnels. Continued studying, learning, persistence, repetition, focus, awareness and presence are all vitally important if we want to level up our health status, sense of happiness, and of course, abundance and prosperity. But, most important of all is to have strong belief in ourselves, that we deserve to live and feel better. We must remember that the sky is not the limit. Our source of supply is limitless and there is no boundary to what the mind is capable of. For those who believe that things are only possible for others but not for me, remember that we are all equipped with the same light, energy and power. We are all made in His image or the image of the Universe, whether you are religious or spiritual. We are definitely all worthy to find out for ourselves.
Until next time, may you all experience abundance of everything extraordinary ❤
