Non-Resistance
For some time now, I have been fascinated by the question of who we really are. Who am I? Why am I here? Why do I exist? If it is said that we all have a purpose, what is mine and am I serving others adequately with the knowledge I have or am I supposed to listen more intently to the universe to find out if I am meant to perhaps share more of what I possess of which I am not yet aware? Then, some months ago, in my studies, I came across one of Nature’s laws—the Law of Non-Resistance (Working with the Law by Raymond Holliwell) which really opened my eyes to the existence of such a thing as Nature’s laws.
Most of us are familiar with the Law of Attraction from the movie and book titled The Secret. And, apparently, whether or not we follow and live our lives under these laws determines if we are to thrive in health, wealth and happiness, or that of sickness, poverty and depression. We can also do so consciously or unconsciously, but whether or not we are aware of or believe in their existence is irrelevant. These laws operate regardless of our opinion or perception of them.
This fascinated me because up until just months ago, I was familiar with less than a handful of these so-called Laws of Nature or Universal Laws. As I mentioned above, I had heard a lot of the Law of Attraction being tossed around and then learning that the law that precedes the Law of Attraction is the Law of Vibration and that without the Law of Vibration, there is no Law of Attraction. Everything in and about our existence are based on energy frequency and that we attract whatever is in harmony with our vibration. We transmit and we receive, like a radio receiver.
Our life lived successfully means different things to different people. But, generally, it is accepted that a successful life is one in which we are able to freely allow peace, love and joy come through us no matter the external circumstances and that we can express happiness, optimal health and prosperity. The challenge, of course, is our perception of the current circumstances external to us. Depending on whether we perceive our present situation to be “bad” or “good” will determine our emotional state, which then dictates the vibrational frequency we emit out into the universe to be received by whomever or whatever outside of us.
So, as a result, if we are in a “good” mood because we perceive that everything is working out as we “expected” then our energy signature is a positive vibrational frequency and in contrast, if we are in a “bad” mood because we perceive that nothing has worked out the way we “expected” then we radiate an energy wave that is vibrationally negative in frequency. Since good attracts good and bad attracts bad, then we attract into our lives however we are and feel.
All this is easy to understand and possible to change with desire, effort, repetition, persistence, time and belief in yourself, but with one caveat — you first have to be aware of your attitude. Then, you have to remember that you control how you see things and you have to be aware of how the different laws operate. Remember that all the laws are in motion whether or not you know about them or believe in them.
Also, the more you flow with what is going on in the present time whatever that may be, the smoother and less frictional your outcome will be. Resistance is persistence and most of the time we resist the things we do not like and that only makes them overstay their welcome. This is where the Law of Non-Resistance comes in and teaches us how to work with life’s seemingly adverse attitude towards us at times and enables us to come out winning.
The Law of Non-Resistance is about not resisting anything that is bad or unpleasant, which at first glance seems to be a contradiction in living well. However, if you really think about it, living by this law allows you to release things that no longer serve or help you, it allows you to accept and be ok with everything so that what is negative can be released without blockage. Remember that what you remove your attention from will disintegrate by sheer neglect.
Accepting the negative is not synonymous with condoning the event, subject or action. It merely functions as a mental game with the understanding that if the mind focuses on the positives such as looking for the good in every situation or everything that you are grateful for, the images formed by our thoughts change, which affect our emotions and mood, which then govern our behavior that then subsequently directs our actions in life. When we change, our energy changes. When our energy changes, our vibrational frequency changes and attracts people, things and opportunities that resonate accordingly.
I realize that everything I have said here sounds pretty simple and it is simple conceptually; however, to execute the changes in order to produce a particular favorable outcome is not easy and can prove to be quite challenging.
The difficulty lies in the preprogramming we have in the mindset that contains all of the habitual behavior and beliefs we have about ourselves and the world we live in since the time of being in our mom’s womb to age 6 or 7. It is this set of beliefs that causes us to conduct our lives a certain way and how we resist or ridicule the things we fear or don’t understand.
I invite you to try an experiment. For the next 24 hours, work with the Law of Non-Resistance. Whenever you become aware of an unpleasant feeling in your nervous system from something you label as “bad” just say out loud or quietly to yourself,
“I learned that nothing is good or bad. Things just are. I choose to accept this in order to allow it to be released. God or The Universe only has good in store for me. I am grateful, thank you.”
Then, in your journal or on a blank piece of paper, write down how you felt about the issue or event afterwards and how your day played out. Then, continue this activity for the rest of the week and journal at the end of the week what changes took place and what you discovered about yourself that may have surprised you. Perhaps the people around you noticed a difference in you or that your week turned out differently than it usually does.
And, if you feel up to the challenge, try this for 2 months to turn this into a permanent habit. I can’t wait to see what unfolds. If it calls to you, let me know in the COMMENT section below. Remember to support this newsletter with a LIKE and SHARE.
